The Hive is an apothecary concept, offering a skincare and home line centered around a singular, essential ingredient: honey. The brand ethos is rooted in ethical sourcing and environmentally-conscious practices, supplying products crafted with natural, sustainable ingredients.
Challenge: Create a comprehensive branding package for The Hive, encompassing the development of a name, logo, and supplementary brand elements.

During my sketching process, I delved into integrating insects and organic elements into the design, contemplating their potential translation throughout the brand.

These initial digital versions mirror the brand's early direction. Originally, I envisioned creating a venture catering to bug aficionados and enthusiasts, serving as a one-stop shop for all their insect-related needs. Thus, the brand was intended to function as a comprehensive store offering various insect-related products.
First Iteration
These mockups and logo originally served as my primary design approach. However, after receiving feedback, I recognized that this overall idea was too specialized to pursue further. Consequently, I decided to shift the business concept towards something that would appeal to a broader audience.
Final Design
Reflection
I really enjoyed working on this project, given my love for all things insect related and it was fun to merge my passion with a design endeavor. The main hurdle I encountered was realizing that certain aspects were too specialized, and this experience taught me the importance of adapting concepts to appeal to a wider audience. Looking ahead, I would like to extend the brand's reach by incorporating the icon more extensively and delving into the design of the backside of the packaging.
